What is Vigamox
Vigamox (moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) is used to treat eye infections.
It is a quinolone antibiotic in the form of eye drops that kill bacteria in the eye causing infection.
Conjunctivitis, or pink eye, is a common bacterial eye infection that can be treated with Vigamox. Patients 1 year of age and older can use these eye drops. One drop should be administered in the affected eye(s) 3 times a day for 7 days.
If your condition does not improve in 7 days you should consult a doctor.
Vigamox is used to treat infections caused by bacteria only, so you should not use it if you have a viral fungal infection in the eye.
To learn about Vigamox side effects, drug interactions or safety concerns, read either the drug label or the drug's package insert. You may also want to speak with your pharmacist or healthcare provider.
The medications you have been prescribed are more likely to be effective if you follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s exact instructions on when and how to take them.
